Kamil Yılmaz is a Professor of Economics at Koç University, Istanbul. He delivers trainings on topics such as Global Economy, Turkish Economy, International Trade, Understanding Economic Crises, International Finance and Macroeconomy.
Professor Yılmaz received his BA degree in Economics from Boğaziçi University in 1987, MA and PhD degrees in Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 1990 and 1992, respectively. After working at the Research Department of the World Bank for two years, he joined Koç University in 1994.
His areas of research include financial econometrics, macroeconomics and international economics. In 2003, he received the Encouragement Award in the Social Sciences and Humanities from the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA). He was a Visiting Professor of Economics at the University of Pennsylvania in 2003-2004 and 2010-2011 academic years. He was the Director of Koç University-TUSIAD Economic Research Forum from 2007 to 2009. He has published numerous scientific articles in leading international and national journals as well as in edited books.
