Professor Ayşegül Özsomer Tunalı, PhD, is one of the world’s foremost thinkers on marketing and brand building and emerging markets. Her over 20 years of experience in research, consulting and teaching in the US and Turkey has resulted in many publications in journals such as the Journal of Marketing, International Journal of Research in Marketing, and Journal of International Marketing. Her papers received several awards, the latest the American Marketing Association Gerald E. Hills Best Paper Award in 2011 for the 10 year impact made to research on entrepreneurial marketing and market orientation. Özsomer has consulted for and delivered customized workshops on global marketing, branding, and marketing strategy for companies like Aygaz, Eddie Bauer, Koç Holding, REI, Turquality, and Uni Credito. She holds a PhD in marketing and logistics from Michigan State University, and an MBA and BA from Bogazici University, Istanbul-Turkey. She is the co-author of The New Emerging Market Multinationals: Four Strategies for Disrupting Markets and Building Brands, published by McGraw-Hill in Summer 2012.
