Associate Professor Yalçın Akçay teaches at Koç University undergraduate, graduate and Executive Education Programs on Numerical Methods, Operations Management and Data-Driven Decision Making for Executives.
Akçay completed his B.A degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (1995) and his MBA (1997) in Middle East Technical University. Then he received double major and doctoral degree on Business Administration and Operational Research from Penn State University in 2002. Since 2002, he is working at Koç University. His areas of research interest includes Production Management, Revenue Management, Random Modeling and Operation, and also Marketing Interface. The researches of Assoc. Prof. Akçay such as Management Science, Production and Operation Management, IIE Transactions have been published in leading international magazines of production management sector. He won the Wickham Skinner Award granted for the best article, which is published in Production and Operations Managements Magazine, in 2010. Through the research projects, Assoc. Prof. Akçay received fund from The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) Career Development Award and Koç University-Migros Retail Research Center (KÜMPEM).
